The Opto Sculpture

This is a "making of" video of a sculpture called "Opto" which is now installed outside of Perth, Australia. I thought it was interesting to watch the detail and care that went into making this simple object.
Nonetheless, the sculpture has led to considerable controversy and criticism. The sculpture cost $291,000 (Australian and US dollars are about the same in value) and was part of a $20 million redevelopment.  Alas.

The video does not really show how the sculpture looks and works in place, but it changes with the wind.  Here's a picture of the final thing (work around it still progressing); link to the video above was from Illusion.
