Guillermo Munro -- who uses the handle Memuco -- is a graphic artist for China Daily and on the side produces a prodigious amount of information graphics, illustrations, and paintings. Of the information graphics, he focuses on environmental issues (apparently often without commission) and has generated a series of beautiful posters on endangered animals. This one, on Rhinos (particularly "part 2" -- scroll down), is on the shortlist for an Information is Beautiful Award in the category of infographic/infodesign.
Despite all this great stuff I found looking at his sites (he has two essentially duplicative sites -- this one is better), getting to the work is not so easy, he's very protective so you can not see it high res, and his graphics contain a number of typos. Ah, well. We all make lots of typos. But his work is beautiful.
