"Call Parade" Phone Booths in São Paulo

Call Parade is a street exhibition in São Paulo
of 100 public phones repainted and redesigned by artists. The project is related to the Cow Parade statutes displayed in cities around the world and reminiscent of The Vader Project in which 100 artists decorated Darth Vader helmets. The booth at left, by Maramgoní, is not only my favorite but evidently the favorite of all the blogs I've seen posting on the exhibit -- Colossal, Devid Sketchbook, Suck It, My Modern Met, and Lustik. It didn't win the popular vote, though, and may not have made it even into the top ten.

The top vote-getter (at right), by Juarez Fagundes, had 1345 votes while Marmagoni's had 204. The others, below, by, Renato Ribeiro, Danilo Roots, and Carla Pires, respectively, had 1229 and 1175 votes far outpacing all the other entries. Of course, to view art like this in a competitive way is absurd. Nonetheless, it's interesting to see what people like a lot and what not so much.
