Carlos DeLuna (innocent; executed), Carlos Hernandez (murderer) |
The
Columbia Human Rights Law Review (the "HRLR") devoted a
full issue in its most recent volume to a single case: that of Carlos DeLuna who was executed in 1989 in Texas for a murder it now seems very evident he did not commit. Worse (if possible): the actual murderer appears to have been known. It is very unusual for a prestigious journal to devote an entire issue to a single subject; this one is overwhelming, with what looks like extraordinarily thorough research backed up with over 3400 footnotes and references. The
online site is exhaustively detailed.
